• ☐ Buy travel insurance, and check the medical, cancellation and belongings cover (general info only, not advice)
• ☐ Check your passport's validity rules for your destination on GOV.UK
• ☐ Get or renew a free GHIC from the NHS website (EU trips; not valid in Turkey)
• ☐ Save your booking reference and your operator's app or Manage My Booking login

8 weeks to go

• ☐ Check whether transfers are included, and compare coach, private and taxi
• ☐ Check the baggage allowance for every passenger
• ☐ Run the "what the hotel photos don't show you" checks on recent reviews

4 weeks to go

• ☐ Book UK airport parking or a lift, and any lounge
• ☐ Book a private transfer if you're using one
• ☐ Order travel money, or check your card's foreign transaction fees

2 weeks to go

• ☐ Book popular day trips and tours, and check the cancellation terms
• ☐ Request child seats or accessibility help in writing

1 week to go

• ☐ Check your network's roaming charges, or install an eSIM at home on Wi-Fi
• ☐ Download offline maps, tickets and boarding passes
• ☐ Check in online and check your flight times again
• ☐ Pack adaptors, medication (in hand luggage), sun cream or thermals

48 hours to go

• ☐ Confirm your transfer details and meeting point
• ☐ Check GOV.UK travel advice for your destination
• ☐ Check your passport, tickets, insurance details and parking confirmation
