This calculator needs JavaScript. To work it out by hand: package price + (hold bags × price per bag per direction × 2) + transfers + parking or drop-off fees + payment-plan fees (for loveholidays up to £4.95 × number of payments; for On the Beach up to £20 + up to £5 per automatic collection) + tourist tax. Balearic tax = adults aged 16+ × nightly rate × nights (half rate from night 9) + 10% VAT. Divide by the number of travellers for the per-person cost.

The RAC reported drop-off charges of £7 at Gatwick and Stansted in 2025, and £8 for five minutes at London City. Check your airport's current fee.

FAQs

What does a package holiday really cost?

The headline price plus anything you need that isn't included: hold bags, transfers, airport parking or drop-off fees, payment-plan admin fees and local tourist taxes. Online travel agents often show bags and transfers as optional extras.

How much is the Balearic tourist tax in 2026?

From 1 May to 31 October: €4 per adult per night in 5-star and 4-star superior hotels, €3 in 4-star and 3-star superior, and €2 in 1- to 3-star hotels and 1- to 3-key apartments. From 1 November to 30 April it's €1, €0.75 and €0.50. Add 10% VAT. Under-16s don't pay, and the rate halves from the ninth night. Do loveholidays and On the Beach charge for monthly payments?

loveholidays says its admin fee is up to £4.95 per payment. On the Beach's terms list an instalment set-up fee of up to £20 per booking and up to £5 per automatic collection, with manual payments free. Check the breakdown at checkout.

Is Turkey's accommodation tax extra?

Turkey charges a 1% accommodation tax on overnight stays (in force for 2026 according to the Turkish Revenue Administration). It's normally built into the hotel price rather than paid separately, but check your booking.
