Approximate route: 65 km by road from Dalaman Airport (DLM) International Terminal to Ölüdeniz (Belcekız beachfront). The calculated free-flow drive time is about 68 minutes. That is an estimate with no traffic, so allow longer. An unofficial Dalaman Airport guide (dalamanhavalimani.com) puts the Havaş shuttle to Fethiye at about 60 minutes. Hisarönü and Ölüdeniz are further on, up and over the hill. Shared coaches that stop at several hotels take longer.
Towns along the way: Dalaman (~6 km, on the route), Göcek (~23 km, on the route), Fethiye (~53 km, on the route), Ovacık (~60 km, on the route), Hisarönü (~62 km, on the route). - Money: Turkey uses the Turkish lira. Keep some lira in cash for minibuses (dolmuş), small purchases and optional tips. If a card machine offers to charge you in pounds, choose lira.
- Data on arrival: Turkey is outside UK networks' EU roaming zones, so check your network's rates or install an eSIM at home before you fly.
- Transfer didn't show? Call the number on your voucher and your operator's 24-hour line, keep evidence and receipts. See our step-by-step guide.

- Health cover: the UK GHIC is not valid in Turkey, so make sure your travel insurance includes medical cover.

Arriving at Dalaman
UK flights use the International Terminal (Jet2 FAQ). Reps and private drivers meet you outside arrivals, as your voucher says. The airport says Havaş shuttles leave from the airport parking area, and taxis are run by the Dalaman Airport Taxi Cooperative.
Option 1: package coach transfer
Coaches to this side often serve Fethiye, Çalış, Ovacık, Hisarönü and Ölüdeniz. Jet2holidays packages generally include transfers, while loveholidays and On the Beach usually sell them as an extra. Check your booking.
Option 2: private transfer
Direct, priced per vehicle, and worth comparing for families and late arrivals.
Option 3: taxi
Use the airport taxi cooperative. It publishes fixed fares; see its published fares below and confirm the price before you set off.
Option 4: Havaş shuttle plus dolmuş
Dalaman Airport says the Havaş Fethiye service runs via Dalaman, Göcek and Günlükbaşı along Adnan Menderes Boulevard to Fethiye bus terminal. Drivers will drop off at designated points on the main route if you tell them in advance. Muttaş also runs airport services. From Fethiye, local dolmuş minibuses run to Ovacık, Hisarönü and Ölüdeniz. Check the current times locally. It works best with light luggage and a daytime arrival.
Hisarönü vs Ölüdeniz: know the hill
The route climbs out of Fethiye through Ovacık and Hisarönü, then drops down to Ölüdeniz on the coast. Hisarönü hotels aren't on the beach, and walking back up from Ölüdeniz is a steep climb. Many guests use the frequent dolmuş or taxis. See the Dalaman hotel checklist.

Fair taxi fares from Dalaman Airport (DLM)
Official or published taxi fares, plus clearly labelled estimates where an official per-km tariff lets us work one out. Where there's nothing official we say so, rather than guess. See all four airports on our airport taxi fares page.
| Airport to | Distance (cooperative's figure) | Fare per taxi (lira) | Euro / sterling price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Göcek | 30 km | 1,400 TL | €30 / £25 |
| Fethiye | 60 km | 3,000 TL | €60 / £50 |
| Hisarönü and Ölüdeniz | 80 km | 3,500 TL | €70 / £60 |
How to avoid being overcharged
- Use the official rank outside arrivals, never someone who approaches you inside the terminal.
- Meter or fixed fare: agree which before you set off. In Majorca and Tenerife taxis are metered, so check the meter starts at the flag-fall amount. At Dalaman the cooperative publishes fixed fares, so confirm the fare for your resort with the driver. At Antalya, photograph the fare board and insist on the meter or the board price.
- Know the supplements. Airport and night/holiday rates, and extra passengers, are legitimate. Luggage is free in Majorca under the official tariff.
- Ask for a receipt (recibo in Spain, fiş in Turkey) with the licence or plate number. In Majorca the tariff says a receipt must be given free.
- Card vs cash. Majorca's tariff says card payment can't be charged extra. Elsewhere card acceptance isn't guaranteed: carry some euros or lira, and pay in the local currency rather than pounds if offered a conversion.
- Note the licence number and keep the receipt if you want to complain. Complain to the local town hall (Spain) or the airport and cooperative (Turkey).
